In March, 2004 our team of experts developed Lomboz™, the first of a series of Open Source tools owned and sponsored by eteration. Lomboz™ is an Open Source and Free JavaEE development environment for businesses and individuals. You can develop, test, profile and deploy Web, Web services, JavaEE and EJB applications with this IDE. Lomboz has comprehensive support for JavaEE standard application server runtimes, and supports most popular open source runtimes such as JOnAS, and other vendor runtime environments.
The mission of the ObjectWeb Lomboz™ project is to create an integrated state-of-the-art environment for JavaEE and encourage the use of Open Source JavaEE application and service infrastructures, such as JOnAS. Strong integration with ObjectWeb runtime environments will allow Lomboz™ to offer high quality Open Source alternatives to enterprise level development of JavaEE based systems. With over one million downloads since its inception, and strong organizational commitment from ObjectWeb to provide Open-Source middleware, Lomboz™ will lead the way in making JavaEE development accessible and standardized.
In July 2004, ObjectWeb, eteration, IBM and others launched The Web Tools Platform (WTP) under the Eclipse Foundation. Since the launch of the project, WTP project has evolved significantly, and more companies have joined. The WTP project is already included as the foundation of commercial products. The goal of WTP project is to consolidate Java Web development by providing a solid foundation for new products.
With the launching of the new Lomboz, eteration now provides subscription based support & maintenance for individuals and enterprises.
